Some artists create images.
Others create feelings.

Jessica Alexis Charpentier known simply as Jessica belongs beautifully to the second group. Her art is an intimate blend of emotion, realism, and manga-inspired expression, formed from a lifetime of drawing, observing, and feeling deeply. Today, we proudly introduce her as an emerging artist whose work speaks through quiet intensity and heartfelt storytelling.

A Creativity Born in Childhood

Jessica’s journey with drawing began early at around five or six years old. Like many young creatives, she started with simple doodles. But as the years passed, those doodles transformed into more advanced drawings, fuelled by a growing fascination with animated worlds.

Shows such as Dragon Ball Z, Digimon, and Pokémon sparked something powerful in her imagination. The storytelling, the characters, the expressive lines it all made her wonder: Can I create images like that too?
That curiosity became the foundation of her artistic identity.

A Style Rooted in Emotion

Jessica’s art is best described as a harmonious blend of realism and manga, capturing the subtleties of human emotion with precision and softness. Love, compassion, connection, longing these themes shape much of her work.

Her drawings often portray raw, everyday feelings: the tenderness between two people, the quiet sadness in a moment of reflection, or the emotional depth that one can only express through art. To her, drawing isn’t just about technique it’s a language of the heart.

Tools of her Creative World

Jessica’s materials are simple yet powerful:

  • Charcoal pencils
  • Coloured pencils
  • Fine liners
  • Ruler and erasers
  • A light board
  • A tablet or phone for references
  • Plain or bamboo paper for more durable, textured pieces

These traditional tools help her maintain the intimate, handcrafted feel that makes her art so personal and relatable.

Her Favourite Artwork: A Tribute to .

Among her many creations, Jessica’s favourite piece is inspired by the beloved anime film Kimi no Na wa
The artwork brings together several scenes from the movie a story about two people, Taki Tachibana and Mitsuha Miyamizu, connected across different timelines by a single extraordinary event.

What draws Jessica to this piece is not only the gorgeous aesthetic of the film but its deeper themes: love, self-discovery, connection, and fate. She hopes her drawing does justice to director Makoto Shinkai, the production team at CoMix Wave Films, and the profound artistry behind the original movie.

Another favourite of hers especially meaningful is the drawing with the halo and hands, which she describes as a personal standout.

Where Inspiration Lives

Jessica finds creativity in the world around her:
Daily life. Raw, unfiltered emotions. The small sparks of love and compassion that happen between people. Her own personal experiences.

And, of course, her lifelong admiration for anime and manga continues to shape both her ideas and her style.

What Drawing Means to Jessica

For Jessica, drawing is more than a hobby it’s a form of self-expression and an emotional outlet. It’s how she communicates feelings that words can’t always convey. Each artwork speaks in its own quiet voice, inviting the viewer to pause, reflect, and feel.

Challenges Along the Way

Like many artists, Jessica faces the internal struggle of wanting to improve of restarting projects when they don’t reflect the vision she imagined.
She doesn’t strive for perfection, but she does strive for meaning. She wants her drawings to have value, to speak to others, and to contribute something genuine to the world.

Looking Toward the Future

Jessica dreams of:

  • Meeting more artists
  • Connecting with a wider audience
  • Taking on commissions for custom art
  • And maybe one day, working on a manga or anime production

While she still considers drawing a hobby for now, she is open to a future where her passion becomes her career—perhaps as part of a creative team working on something big, expressive, and collaborative.

Where She Sees Herself in the Coming Years

Jessica hopes to share her art with a broader public and connect with people who resonate with her style. She envisions more collaborations, more friendships in the art community, and more opportunities to grow.
